Video surveillance and privacy, done properly.

I help companies, property managers and associations in Switzerland plan and operate cameras so that they comply with data protection law and are properly documented, and implement the Data Protection Act pragmatically. Clear, independent and built for everyday use.

Confidential

What you share with me stays with me. No disclosure, no reference without your express consent. Your documents are stored exclusively in Switzerland.

Independent

I sell no products and take no commissions. My advice is guided by your business alone.

Pragmatic

You get no list of legal clauses, but measures you can implement with reasonable effort.

Personal

From the first conversation to implementation, you always deal with the same person: me.

Three services, one goal: data protection you can prove.

Clearly scoped, at a fixed price, with a result you can hold in your hands: report, documents, evidence.

Camera review and camera planning

Before you buy cameras: together we define what should be monitored and what should not, I plan positions and coverage and recommend suitable devices, independent of any manufacturer. For existing systems I review coverage, signage, retention and access. You receive a report with photos and clear adjustments.

Data protection review (FADP)

A status review for your business: which data do you process, what does the revised Swiss Data Protection Act require, what is missing? You receive a clear report with prioritised measures that non-lawyers understand too.

Who I work for.

Businesses and organisations that operate cameras or process personal data and have no in-house specialist for it.

SMEs and trades

Customer data, personnel files, Microsoft 365: get things in order before someone asks.

Properties and property managers

Plan and operate cameras at entrances, in underground car parks and on premises in line with data protection law.

Associations and sports facilities

Member data, photos, cameras on the premises: data protection that fits club life and protects the board.

Fiduciaries and their clients

Data protection as an additional service for your clients, without building up your own expertise.

How we work together.

Three steps, no surprises. You always know what comes next and what it costs.

  1. Initial consultation

In 30 minutes we clarify what it is about and whether I can help you. Free and without obligation.

  2. Analysis

I review your documents, inspect systems and cameras on site and talk to the people responsible.

  3. Report and implementation

You receive a prioritised action plan or the finished documents. If you wish, I implement the measures with you and check afterwards that everything is in place.

About me

“Data protection has to work in the business, not just on paper.”

I am Gabriel Henry, a privacy consultant based in Aargau. My path led from technology, through hands-on work in an industrial company, to data protection. I know the daily reality from a management role: customer data, personnel files, Microsoft 365, IT providers, cameras on the building. All things that run on the side, until something happens.

And I know what it feels like when something happens. I have seen security incidents up close and helped clean them up. The worst question in that moment is not “How could this happen?” but “Which data is affected?”, when nobody can answer it. That is exactly what I want to spare my clients.

I know data protection from both sides: as the person responsible for implementing the law in a business without bringing daily operations to a halt, and as a data subject who has filed access requests and seen how many companies fail at them.

With cameras, I am particular. A camera that looks onto the neighbouring property or the street is not a detail. It is distrust, conflict and, in the worst case, a lawyer’s letter. That is why I plan position, angle and lens so that the camera sees only what it is allowed to see. Physically, verifiably, for years to come.

Being in good standing means this to me: when a customer, an employee or an authority asks, you have an answer that holds and documents that prove it. No excuses, no searching, no sleepless night.

My work has a clear boundary: it starts before the problem and ends where a case goes to court. For litigation and legal opinions I recommend engaging a specialised lawyer, and I am happy to work alongside them.

Frequently asked questions

Short answers. Everything else we clarify in the initial consultation.

Does an SME need a data protection advisor at all?

Private companies are not required to appoint one. The Data Protection Act, however, applies to anyone processing personal data, which is practically every business and every association. If you manage customer data, personnel files or member data, you need to know the obligations and meet them day to day. Whether you do that in-house or with a review by me is your decision.

What does it cost?

All services have a fixed price you know before we start: camera review from CHF 950, camera planning from CHF 1,200, data protection review from CHF 1,900, data protection essentials from CHF 1,200. Review and essentials together: CHF 2,800. The “from” prices apply to businesses with up to 20 employees and systems with up to 8 cameras at one site, travel within Aargau included. Larger businesses receive a quote after the initial consultation. No hourly meter, no surprises.

How long does a data protection review take?

Depending on the size of the business, one to three weeks from analysis to report. Your own effort is limited to a conversation of about two hours and providing the documents.

May I operate a camera at my entrance?

Usually yes, provided the camera only covers your own premises, recording is visibly announced, retention is short and only authorised people have access. Public ground and neighbouring properties do not belong in the picture. The best way to achieve that is physical: the right position, the right angle and the right lens, not software tricks. That is exactly what I check in a camera review, on site.

Does the GDPR apply to me as well?

If you have customers in the EU or monitor their behaviour, the European GDPR may apply in addition to the Swiss Data Protection Act. In the data protection review I clarify whether that is the case for you and what it means in practice.

What happens to my documents?

They stay in Switzerland on encrypted systems and are deleted once the engagement is complete, unless you wish otherwise. I name references only with your consent and never with details.
